my report on la fiesta del libro y de la cultura de medellín, a festival that has taken place for the twenty past years.

located next to the universidad de antioquia and partially inside the botanical gardens of medellín this book fair by now has an important place in medellín’s cultural calendar.

form self-publication to small and larger publishers, everybody is present. second hand books, some of them wrapped as surprises with only the age of the book labelled on the outside. several stages for book presentations, talks, podium discussions, presentations. a main stage in the botanical gardens hosting bands.

thomas bernhard - helada (i was surprised to find several new exemplares of this austrian author who passed away in 1989 and will report on how his books come across in spanish. i read one or two of his books during high school, but can’t remember anything. so maybe i have read this one in german before).
