cógela suave!
take it easy, so they say on the caribean coast of colombia. good advice!
sounds easy enough. but what if your default state is doing something. preferably something useful. fixing, organising, helping, finding solutions. and if there is no problem to solve, surely one can be found anyway. or anticipated. just to be prepared.
so how do you actually do it by not doing anything?
maybe taking it easy is not the opposite of doing. maybe it is the opposite of needing to do something.
and cógela suave doesn't really ask you to stop. just to loosen the grip a little. to accept that not everything needs fixing, not every moment needs a purpose, and some problems can at least wait until they actually exist.
sounds reasonable. working on it. which may, admittedly, be missing the point. so, just telling myself again: cógela suave! pronouncing it just like the costeños, taking easy even the movement of my own tongue.
