eat, read, sleep
after my recent forays into the worlds of literature at la fiesta de literatura y cultura medellín (report coming up) it was quite fitting that i could come along to the public recording of the ndr literature podcast eat.READ.sleep in berlin last weekend.
this was fun. the two hosts guided us through their usual segments (i guess they are usual, because everyone else seemed to know what was going on and what was required from them). i briefly contemplated going on stage as the guest who had travelled the furthest to attend this podcast, but then they clarified that what they meant was travel on that day, not four days before. and not mental travel either.
so i just sat there and was amazed to learn that someone had written four volumes of their own family saga and had only just got started. and here i am writing one volume covering several generations of my family. maybe it is because austrian families are less complicated than swedish?
what else? i liked their statistics and diagrams on literature prices. and the admission that some books could do with particularly less pages. mental note: don’t read these books - they are way too long!
